Connection Diagrams

Connection Diagrams are a simplified conventional pictorial representation and written instructions of how your timer is connected. It shows the components of the unit and simplifies installation. And it shows the power and signal connections between the devices. The connection diagrams usually gives more information about the relative position and arrangement of devices and terminals on the units, This is to help in installation of the device. This is unlike a schematic diagram.

In a schematic the arrangement of the components connections on the diagram usually does not correspond to the components locations in the finished device. A picture diagram would show more detail of the appearance, whereas a wiring diagram uses a more symbolic notation to show connections over the physical appearance.

Do not be alarmed if the cable color on the diagram does not match the cat5 or phone cord cables you received with your Timer. As long as you are using a cat5 or phone cable they will indeed work for you. We use different colors on the connection diagrams so you can easily read what needs to happen on paper. We like to make sure you get the highest quality connections with the least amount of problems or head aches.
